Purchase orders for posters must be accompanied by an EDC Work Order and your art work before a poster will be printed.

Price

Complete pricing information is provided in the EDC Work Order.  Prices and form updates are effective as of December 1, 2016.

Payment

Process your order as an ISR (not an IPR) in HokieMart. Please select "Extension Distribution Poster Printer Service Center." Your purchase order must specify Account Code 1244R.

Supported File Formats

  • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
  • Microsoft Publisher (.pub)
  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
  • Adobe Photoshop (.jpg or .tiff)

Image Formatting

Image resolutions should be 150 to 300 dots per inch (dpi). Resolutions lower than 150 dpi will result in grainy, poor-quality posters. Beware of images copied from a website! Resolutions higher than 300 dpi may result in longer printing times and/or distortion and errors during printing.

Paper Type  and Poster Dimensions

There are two types of paper available for your poster: regular and photo. Available widths:

  • Regular: 24", 36", 42"
  • Photo: 24", 36"

The maximum length is limited by the length of a roll of paper (100').  However, the maximum length is 56" if you have a PowerPoint file.

NOTE:  Since the width of the paper is always fixed, the number of running feet refers to the dimension that is equal to or longer than the available widths. For example, for a 36"x36" poster, the running feet is 3.  For a 36"x42" poster, the running feet is 4. Fractions of a foot are rounded up.

Handling

Please note that posters are neither waterproof nor light stable. Laminating services are no longer available at the Distribution Center.
